During the season of Lent, we often take on different faith practices such as prayer, fasting from different foods, or reading the scriptures. However, Sabbath keeping is one faith practice that rarely gets mentioned and yet is a fundamental way of drawing us closer to God, our friends/family and all of creation.
Using the book Honor Sabbath, we will begin a discussion about Sabbath keeping especially in a quick-moving world full of demands, responsibilities, and little appreciation for rest. What does it mean to honor the Sabbath in our day? How might we do it in a way that works with our lifestyle? What would a change in our rhythm of work and rest mean to our mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing?
You are invited to join the discussion. The group will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Sundays, March 12, 19, 26 and April 2. Bagels will be served. The books will be available in the lounge for $8 beginning February 26. They are available only in paperback.
